Phlebotomy

This course prepares individuals to obtain blood and other specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Course work includes proper specimen collection and handling, communication skills, and maintaining patient data. Graduates may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, and other health care settings and may be eligible for national certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology as phlebotomy technicians.

How do I enroll in this program?

  1. Complete the Program Interest Form and submit to Public Safety Bldg. office #112,
  2. Attach proof of high school diploma/GED,
  3. Provide proof of either college credit for English or provide TABE reading test score.

You can schedule your placement test by calling 336-249-8186, ext. 6787, or test as a walk-in. You will need a testing permission form from Diane Hedgecock (Public Safety, office #112) before proceeding to the Testing Center in the Grady E. Love Building.

Once you have completed testing, return your scores to Diane Hedgecock to verify your eligibility.
